Wellfleet
Wellfleet is our heavy plain jersey: 4-gauge cotton or ragg wool, solid color, traditional fit, built with more weight than our 7-gauge families.
Filters
Wellfleet sits on the outer Cape, between bay and Atlantic, with working shellfish grounds and weather that earns heavier knitwear.
The Wellfleet Collection
The Wellfleet is the heavy plain-jersey sweater in the Whalerknits line. It gives you the weight of our 4-gauge construction without the extra loft of shaker knit.
Stitch and Gauge
Wellfleet uses 4-gauge plain jersey. Four gauge creates a heavier fabric than our 7-gauge jersey families. Because the stitch is plain jersey, the surface stays cleaner and flatter than Newport.
Fiber and Fit
Knit in 100% cotton or ragg wool depending on the run. Traditional fit, true to size, and substantial enough to serve as an outer layer in cool weather.

About Wellfleet
-
How is Wellfleet different from Newport?
Both are 4-gauge families. Wellfleet is plain jersey, so it is flatter and cleaner. Newport is shaker knit, so it has more loft and texture. -
Cotton or ragg wool?
Cotton is the standard run. Ragg wool versions use the same product family and fit, with a warmer yarn.
