Westport
Westport is our quiet striped midweight: 7-gauge cotton jersey with thin alternating stripes and a traditional fit.
Filters
Westport, Massachusetts is close to the mill and close to the water: river, harbor, farmland, and Buzzards Bay in one place.
The Westport Collection
The Westport is the restrained striped sweater in the Whalerknits line. The stripe is narrow and quiet, giving the sweater texture without turning it into a loud pattern.
Stitch and Gauge
Westport uses 7-gauge jersey, the same midweight class as Chatham and Nantucket. The stripe is knit by changing yarn carriers during production, which takes more attention than a solid color.
Fiber and Fit
Knit in 100% cotton with a traditional fit. The fabric is midweight, easy to layer, and built for regular wear.

About Westport
-
How is Westport different from Nantucket?
Both are 7-gauge striped cotton jersey. Westport uses a thinner, quieter stripe; Nantucket uses a bolder maritime stripe. -
How is the stripe made?
The stripe is knit by changing yarn carriers during production. It is slower than a solid-color run and requires careful attention to keep the repeat clean.
