Whalerknits Sweaters Sakonnet Birdseye Crewneck Pullover
(5.0)

Sakonnet Point marks the lower edge of Little Compton, where Rhode Island farmland meets open water.

The Sakonnet Collection

The Sakonnet is the textured midweight sweater in the Whalerknits line. From a distance it reads quiet and solid; up close the birdseye pattern gives the fabric depth.

Stitch and Gauge

Sakonnet uses 7-gauge birdseye knit. Birdseye is a repeating knit pattern that creates small, regular marks across the surface. It adds texture without making the sweater loud.

Fiber and Fit

Knit in 100% cotton with a traditional fit. The weight sits near our other 7-gauge families but has a more refined surface than plain jersey.

Knit in Fall River

Designed for Sakonnet Point, Rhode Island. Knit on Whalerknits circular knitting machines at 502 Bedford Street in Fall River, then cut, sewn, and finished in the same building.

About Sakonnet

  • What does birdseye mean?
Birdseye is a repeating knit pattern that creates small, regular marks across the fabric surface. It adds texture while still reading quiet from a distance.
  • How is Sakonnet different from Chatham?
Both are 7-gauge cotton midweights. Chatham is plain jersey; Sakonnet uses birdseye for more surface texture.
